The Mabeilial Key

Developed by HyperK, Game Design & Development first year student at Creative Seeds, Brittany, France.

THE GAME

In this 2D top-down shooter,

Take control of a hero overwhelmed by his job as a stellar transporter in his small ship, returning from a mission to save humanity with a rare mineral, Mabeilial. He finds himself facing an army of increasingly tough alien ships that have taken control of planet Earth.

Bring the ore back to Earth to save it, along with your equipment, and of course, you and your ship as well.

MAIN FEATURES

It's a game where you have to eliminate various enemies in the form of alien ships with your ship, which have different behaviors and shapes.

ART

It's a game with a rather cartoonish/simplistic graphic and sound environment, but still immersive.

THE PROJECT

This game is a 10 week end of year Godot 2D project made during the first year of the Game Design & Development programme at Creative Seeds.

ASSETS CREDITS

The assets used that require crediting their creator can be found in the "Credits" menu in the game menu. Most of the graphic assets were created by me, while the other musical, sound, and graphic assets are all sourced from these three sources: Pixabay, Freesounds, and Itch.io.

DEV NOTE

Despite a large number of fixes and minor improvements in the v1.2 build, it is possible, depending on your PC configurations, particularly in terms of VRAM (Minimum estimated : 4GB | Ideal : 8GB to 12GB and more), that the game crashes just after the loading screen (related to a long standing complex physics issue). I apologize for this, and normally after restarting and a few attempts, it should work.
